Start Your Day Off Right...

Christianity, if false, is of no importance, and if true, of infinite importance. The only thing it cannot be is moderately important.-C.S. Lewis

Good Morning World : )

Repeat after me: "Today is going to be a good day, because it is God's day, and I am his son/daughter!"
The quote from C.S. Lewis above is what my blog of this morning is going to be jump started off of.  I've been a "Christian" for my entire life, but it wasn't until about six months ago that something shifted in my faith, after I heard Jarrod Pugh speak about what it really means to be a Christian and what God will say when you stand before him. In his sermon, he pointed out this verse:
21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’ -Matthew 7:21-23
Let me tell you what, that struck a chord within my heart.  We (as the body of Christ) do all these good works, go to Ecuador, go to Church, pray once in a while etc. but do we really know God and does He really know us, does He really have our hearts, is He really number one, and do we really know His word and commandments and strive to obey that above all else?
Going back to the quote by C.S. Lewis, there is no denying that God is either of no importance or the absoulute utmost importance...so where does He stand in our lives?  Is He really of the utmost importance to us, is bringing Him glory and being a light to others through love really something we walk out in our faith?  I've already decided that God is of the utmost importance rather than of no importance.  But, putting Him in that place in my life, and putting myself as second, is a daily task.
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. -Romans 12:2
I need to daily renew my mind, get my focus off of myself and onto the Lord and His will.  So lets all start the day off right, by giving Him our day, by spending some time with the one who loves us the most, even when we don't deserve it.  Let's push deeper and go further with Christ, and show the world that Christianity isn't a bunch of hypocrites stuck in "religion", but the sons and daughters of God who are full of live, peace, love, joy, compassion, and the fruits of the spirit of the living God.

Be blessed <3

Ready, Set, Go...

There are two distinct classes of what are called thoughts: those that we produce in ourselves by reflection and the act of thinking and those that bolt into the mind of their own accord. -Thomas Paine

Well, here I sit on the verge of this whole blog undertaking and I'm not quite sure where to start.  So I figure that the beginning woud be as good a place as any.  This isn't the first time I have attempted to start a blog, and I can't guarantee that it will be the last.  I decided to give it another go after I saw a couple of my friends blogs and figured...what the hay, might as well.  As you can see, the name of my blog is "Penny For Your Thoughts."  I'm not quite sure when the first time I heard this saying was, I think it might have been in some cute lovey dovey movie...you know how it goes, the wifes gazing off into the distance with half the world on her mind and her loving husband lifts her chin with his thumb and gives a little grin as he asks "penny for your thoughts?"...anyways, I really like this saying for whatever reason and decided that it seemed befitting for my blog.  There is no order, rhyme, or reason to what I'm going to put in this thing, it is what it is, but I do hope you enjoy it.

Stay tuned for more : )
